Requirements

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our product development team. The Product Owner will serve as the bridge between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that the product vision is effectively translated into actionable deliverables. This role is crucial for defining product features, prioritizing the backlog, and facilitating smooth handoffs to the development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with iLink's mission and design philosophy.
    • Ensure that the product vision is understood and embraced by the development team.
  • Backlog Management:
    • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog based on business value, user needs, and technical feasibility.
    • Write clear and concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Gather and analyze requirements from business stakeholders, customers, and end-users.
    • Facilitate regular communication between stakeholders and the development team to manage expectations.
  • Handoff Deliverables:
    • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and mockups, to hand off to the development team.
    • Ensure that deliverables are aligned with the design team's outputs and meet quality standards.
  • Collaboration with Design & Development Teams:
    • Work closely with UI/UX designers to incorporate user-centric designs into the product.
    • Collaborate with the development team during sprints to clarify requirements and accept completed stories.
  • User-Centric Focus:
    • Advocate for the end-user by ensuring that the product meets real user needs and provides meaningful experiences.
    • Incorporate user feedback and analytics to refine product features.
  • Ethical & Privacy Considerations:
    • Ensure that the product adheres to ethical standards and privacy regulations.
    • Avoid implementing dark patterns or deceptive design practices.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance product development.
    • Leverage responsible use of AI and emerging technologies to anticipate user needs.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 9+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an agile environment.
    • 2+ years experience in Veterinary or Human Medicine.
    • Proven track record of delivering successful software products.
    • Project management certifications and experience is an asset
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
    • Proficiency in collaboration tools and basic understanding of UI/UX principles.
