Position Overview As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you’ll be responsible for the meticulous assembly of complex and precise mechanical units. You’ll play an essential role in constructing machinery that adheres to critical dimensional specifications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Your work will involve the positioning, alignment, calibration, and fine-tuning of components, requiring a high degree of skill and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Assemble mechanical units with a focus on accuracy, problem-solving, and skilled craftsmanship. Follow work instructions, interpret engineering prints/specs, and utilize a variety of handheld and precision tools. Inspect and verify parts to meet strict quality standards, using precision instruments like calipers and gauges. Identify and document product defects, perform quality checks, and rework or repair components as necessary. Collaborate on final inspections and testing to ensure equipment meets performance standards. Maintain process cycle times and ensure all tasks adhere to safety and quality protocols. Work independently and within a team environment, providing cross-training to co-workers when needed. Qualifications 2 – 4 years of relevant mechanical assembly experience preferred. Familiarity with centerless grinding is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school experience preferred. Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Physical Demands Ability to lift 30-50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity to assemble components accurately and efficiently. Comfortable working on feet for the majority of each shift.
