The responsibilities of the Commercial Manager include: Direct and co-ordinate the activities of a site technical office program workloads and advise on commercial strategy for successful project execution; Manage commercial and project control matters of major projects including change management, procurement, prime contract management, cost control, earned value management, scheduling and risk management; Develop and enforce commercial/project controls policies, processes and procedures; Provide commercial and contractual advice and reports to Executives and Project Managers ; Lead all claims and change management with respect to clients and subcontractors; L ead, train and develop commercial/project controls staff; Manage the input of various bid phases including commercial review and risk analysis of contracts; Oversee the commercial management of designers and the design process . Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred), Business or Law ; Minimum of 15 years of experience working on large heavy civil projects ; E xperience working on large infrastructure projects is preferred ; E xperience representing companies in adjudication, mediation and commercial negotiations, negotiating contracts, claims management/dispute resolution ; E xperience developing and implementing strategies for risk and opportunity management; Sound understanding of contractual, commercial and financial functions on major projects; Knowledge of contract language, change management and legal requirements of contracts; Ability to liaise/co-ordinate internal and external legal counsel and experts; Proficien t with Microsoft Office ; Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills ; Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; Excellent people and leadership skills; Willingness to travel regularly and overnight ; Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
