Overview:

The Business Development (BD) Manager will manage and grow key client accounts. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with strategic clients, understanding their business needs, and identifying opportunities for Sure Steel, Inc. to provide value-added solutions and services. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, business acumen, and the ability to drive revenue growth through strategic account management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Account Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, including Owners, contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within strategic client organizations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client business needs, goals, and challenges to identify opportunities for Sure Steel, Inc. to add value.
2. Business Development and Growth:
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand Sure Steel, Inc.'s presence and offerings within strategic client accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project management, estimating, and engineering, to develop customized solutions and proposals that meet client needs and requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and proposal presentations to secure new business and drive revenue growth.
3. Account Planning and Strategy:
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans and growth strategies for each strategic client, including account profiling, opportunity identification, and action planning.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and performance evaluations to assess progress against goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of account strategies with overall company objectives.
4. Relationship Management and Customer Satisfaction:
  • Proactively communicate with clients to provide updates on project status, address concerns or issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance and support to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Anticipate and resolve client issues or escalations in a timely and effective manner to maintain positive relationships.
5. Market Intelligence and Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities that may impact strategic client accounts.
  • Monitor client satisfaction levels, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Analyze sales data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of account management strategies and tactics.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or strategic account management, sales, or related field, with a proven track record of managing and growing key client accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Business acumen and ability to understand and articulate client business needs and challenges.
  • Experience in the construction industry or related field is preferred but not required.
