Job Description:
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge while adhering to age and population-specific standards.
- Care for patients in all phases of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Plan and coordinate patient care, conduct patient assessments, provide patient education, perform triage, and carry out various nursing interventions.
- Function within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the relevant Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules.
- Recognize and adhere to the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses as outlined by the American Nurses Association.
- Adhere to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information.
- Coordinate and manage care for patients, including those with complex needs.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral forms to engage audiences, respond to questions and concerns, and produce desired outcomes.
- Delegate and supervise based on understanding of responsibility, authority, and accountability.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships within and outside the department.
- Provide effective feedback to patients and family members regarding health.
- Perform age-related patient assessments and nursing interventions.
- Promote a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide the best outcomes for patients.
- Float to all Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units within the facility.
- Typical ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 during the night.
- Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs.
- Work straight nights, every other weekend, and holidays.
