Playing a key role on our project teams, you will work alongside passionate engineers to develop innovative solutions that benefit society. Typical projects last 2-12 months and are completed by project teams of 2-10 engineers. At any one point, you may be engaged in 2-3 (or more) projects simultaneously, which provides for a diverse and fulfilling work experience. Some of MPR's projects provide opportunities for moderate amounts of domestic and international travel to client sites, test facilities or supplier's facilities. Travel may also include visits between MPR's three offices in Virginia, Connecticut or Massachusetts.

How you will make a difference

  • Use engineering first principles and the experience of MPR's subject matter experts to develop solutions that meet and exceed our clients' needs
  • Communicate directly with clients to understand challenges and needs
  • Play a key role and grow into leadership roles on projects and within the company
  • Work on multi-disciplinary teams of mechanical, chemical, civil, nuclear, materials and/or electrical engineers
  • Author clear and concise technical documents for clients, including reports, memoranda, calculations, technical drawings, and test plans
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree with 2+ years' experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Aptitude and desire to work outside of your engineering discipline(s) and quickly learn new concepts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels of an organization (internal and external)
  • Persistent questioning attitude and the ability to accept that in others
  • Ability to accept and grow from constructive feedback
  • Ability to effectively time manage and prioritize work to meet commitments
  • Excellent attention to detail
