Cardiology Clinical Nurse II

Job Summary:
The Cardiology Clinical Nurse II is responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, and managing the needs of assigned patients in a medical/surgical cardiac unit. This role involves implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments and procedures, and collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients. The ideal candidate will possess a current NYS Registered Nurse license, certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and previous experience as a PCA or nursing assistant.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred
Unit Description:
The medical cardiology unit is a 29-bed unit serving male and female patients with a variety of cardiac and medical diagnoses. Most patients admitted to the unit require telemetry monitoring after receiving minimally-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures. The age range of patients is from young adult to geriatric.
