POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Product Manager is responsible for overall controls strategies for all HVAC businesses within the Climate Control Group. This includes the development of a controls roadmap with alignment into all product and technology roadmaps, managing the controls product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the controls vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and pricing to ensure price, volume, market share and customer satisfaction goals are met. Control products will include unit based controls, as well as, higher level system and building controls for use in commercial and residential applications.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Define the controls strategy and roadmap via multi-generation product/technology plans
  • Communicates the strategy and gains alignment with the greater organization
  • Evaluate & facilitate inter-company product synergy opportunities
  • Align controls and product line strategies
  • Defines control requirements including cost, quality and timing targets
  • Deliver business cases and product requirements with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Drives ideation, develops concepts, establishes and manages priorities
  • Be an expert with respect to the controls, applications, competition and the markets through use of available tools and resources
  • Develop the core positioning, value proposition and messaging for controls
  • Leads cross functional team through product lifecycle process
  • Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study is required.Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in HVAC industry and 3 years as Product Manager or Engineer required.

Computer Skills: Skilled with MS Office suite.

Certificates & Licenses: None

Other Requirements: Knowledge of workflow process development, process improvement and documentation.
