Columbus, United States Focused Mind ADHD Counseling Full time

Are you an experienced couples therapist who believes in connection and authenticity in your work? Are you one of those people who can make friends anywhere and believes that rapport is the foundation of good therapy? Do you believe that a positive work culture based on true comradery, support, and clear communication helps not only your team but your clients and you are interested in helping ADHD couples (and individuals) get unstuck? We want to hear from you

Mission

At Focused Mind ADHD Counseling, our mission is to empower adults with ADHD to build the lives they want. We operate from a neurodiversity affirming lens and provide treatment that is holistic and focused on the unique ways ADHD impacts people's lives. Interestingly, couples where one or both people have ADHD have very unique communication struggles and need a specialized approach to meet their relationship goals. Unfortunately, there is currently a gap in services needing to be filled in that space so we need you an awesome couples therapist empathetic towards ADHD to start filling in that gap

What We Value

  • Interest and Passion: All of our therapists are genuinely interested in working with ADHD and curious about the way neurodivergence impacts their unique lives.
  • Communication and Support: Our staff members collaborate with each other openly, with humility, offering support and comradery.
  • Self-Awareness: Our staff values the process of self-awareness. We work best with individuals who are introspective, open to feedback, and willing to unpack the impact of their own feelings and actions on our clinical and professional relationships.
  • Authenticity: We value therapists who are flexible, laid back, and comfortable being themselves in the clinical space, all while being able to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and a client-focused clinical mindset.
  • Strengths-Based: We believe our clients are the experts in their own lives. We seek to help clients turn their ADHD into a superpower, and we need therapists who enjoy seeing client's strengths, even when they cannot see them for themselves.
  • Flexible, Self-Motivated, and Dedicated Learners: Our practice was created due to gaps in services surrounding adult ADHD. While we expect therapists to have experience with ADHD, we also want them to be hungry to learn more and open to new ideas and ways of practicing therapy to accommodate for a neurodiversity affirming and specialized approach.

Job Summary

Focused Mind ADHD Counseling is actively looking to hire a licensed therapist/counselor (LSW, LPC, LISW, IMFT) who sees couples and individuals with a desire to grow with us. We are expanding our practice that provides outpatient in-person and video counseling services to individuals in Ohio. Therapists must be living in Columbus, Ohio, as that is where the practice is physically located. Ideal fit will want to build up to a caseload of about 18 clients a week.

As a therapist or counselor of our group practice, you will be seeing couples where one or both people have ADHD. In addition, it will be expected that you also can see adults for individual ADHD counseling. Adults with ADHD will often present with co-occuring issues such as anxiety, depression, life-transition and career-development issues, and self-esteem struggles. With that in mind, know that our clients are all specifically seeking ADHD specialized care.

This position must be staffed by an individual who is warm, flexible, laid back, has strong organizational skills (e.g. prompt documentation, etc.), self-aware, passionate, and works well with a team.

Required Education & Experience

  • Master's or in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling.
  • 1-2 years of experience working specifically with couples therapy (EFT therapists encouraged to apply)
  • 1-2 years of experience providing long term psychotherapy to adults in community mental health or private practice (can include internship)
  • Active State of Ohio license or LSW, LISW, LMFT, or LPCC
  • Willingness to work two evenings a week.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Compensation between $75 and $150 per clinical hour (depending on the service provided, e.g. individual, couples, testing, etc)
  • Part-time to Full-time W2 position with full coverage liability insurance
  • Our practice is out of network with insurance
  • Flexibility of hours
  • Retirement fund with employer match
  • Free weekly consultation/supervision
  • Highly motivated and rewarding population
  • Strong referral base and online presence so caseloads can fill up quickly
  • Professional-level training available for the testing of adult ADHD (which can lead to additional income and expand your clinical skill set)
  • Some CEU reimbursement
  • This job does not include health insurance.

If you're interested in joining our team, send us your resume and a cover letter, letting us know why you believe you'd be a good fit at Focused Mind ADHD Counseling and sharing your experience working with both couples and ADHD. We can't wait to hear from you
