Position Overview

The Director of Commercial Finance will play a crucial role in driving the financial performance of our commercial operations. This position will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, focusing on optimizing pricing strategies, profitability, and revenue growth. The successful candidate will provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making and long-term planning. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering results that align with our company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Partner with commercial teams to develop and execute financial strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability across the organization.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Oversee the annual budgeting process, and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts and long-term financial models for the commercial division.
  • Profitability Analysis: Lead efforts to analyze product margins, customer profitability, and pricing models. Provide insights to improve profit margins and drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Revenue Growth: Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for revenue expansion, including pricing strategies, new business models, and geographic expansion.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to align financial goals with commercial objectives. Provide recommendations that influence key business decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks within the commercial business, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and internal policies. Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a commercial finance function.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
