**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)**Job Specialty:** Wound/Hyperbaric Safety Specialty**Job Duration:** 26 Weeks**Shift:** Day - 5x8 - 8:00AM - 4:30PM**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 Hours per Week**Experience:** 1-3 years in a medical/surgical clinical setting**License:** Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License**Certifications:** BLS-AHA**Must-Have:**- Basic knowledge of wound, ostomy, and skin care management- Clinical expertise with the ability to function without direct supervision- Advanced reading, writing, and oral communication skills in English- Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsing- Comfortable with Windows OS and learning new applications**Job Description:**- Provide expertise in the management of wound, ostomy, or skin care in the Wound Care Center.- Operate hyperbaric chambers and system components safely and effectively.- Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the physician.- Assist with patient preparation and provide technical expertise to physicians and staff.- Maintain appropriate levels of hyperbaric supplies and equipment maintenance.- Clarify physician orders when necessary.- Assess patient data and interpret it for educational needs based on age-specific requirements.- Ensure the wound/ostomy/skin plan of care is understood across the continuum of care.- Document patient responses to interventions accurately.- Perform thorough patient assessments to evaluate status, readiness for education, and plan teaching strategies.- Consider special patient needs and cultural factors in care delivery.- Obtain adequate lab specimens and perform bedside lab testing, adhering to medical provider orders and lab procedures.- Collect departmental data, conduct post-treatment follow-up calls, and perform quality reviews.- Follow safety guidelines specific to hyperbaric chambers.- Provide wound care education and documentation to ensure optimal care.- Stay updated on trends and standards in skin care, wound, and ostomy.- Facilitate product evaluations for wound/skin care products.- Maintain knowledge of equipment, tests, procedures, and pharmacology.- Transfer knowledge of any wound care changes to staff.This position involves direct interaction with a wide variety of individuals, maintaining confidentiality, and projecting a professional, friendly demeanor. Your role will also require effective communication skills, focusing solely on factual information sharing and support.
