Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Manage shipments for customers, procuring capacity and negotiating pricing to allow for revenue growth.
- Exercise discretion in the negotiation of rates with customers and carriers to meet or exceed targeted net margin per load on assigned accounts.
- Build and foster positive relationships with customers and resolve service issues using independent judgment and discretion to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify and solicit additional business opportunities with new and current customer accounts.
- Schedule and manage appointments and on-time performance with shippers and receivers.
- Locate and arrange approved carriers to cover customer loads and manage timeliness of loading and unloading.
- Strive for continuous improvement, identify existing or potential issues, and assist in corrective action.
- Effectively communicate service offerings to current and potential customers
- Dispatch carriers, and properly update your loads within the company TMS.
- Assist in accounts receivable collections efforts.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, rotating after hours, weekend and holiday coverage based on customer requirements.
- Escalate customer challenges to leadership team for resolutions.
- Offering pricing updates and market insight to customers based on available tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
- Work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
- Detail oriented with strong communication skills.
- Training and mentoring program available for position.
