Your Challenges

  • Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in software development to Eppendorf and Legacy product offerings.
  • Responsible for leading software development assignments and projects to create, support or maintain Eppendorf and Legacy product offerings (fermentation, bioreactors, incubation, shakers, laboratory freezers and other life science relevant systems) at engineering level.
  • Mentor colleagues within development engineering to complete assignments including generation of detailed design documentation, engineering plans and proposals to ensure execution of such plans.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering functions to implement specified design requirements into production quality systems.
  • Participate as a key member of Product Development team.
  • Follows ISO 9001 and 13485 policies and procedures in the performance to the responsibilities outlined in the job description.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for software development tools, methods and applications to advance the state of the art software products.
  • Analyzes data and information to enable problem solving.
  • Creates and develops software designs and architectures as required.
  • Creates software change orders and documentation for releasing and launching software.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs software issues and creates software testing programs to test software or hardware.
  • Creates and develops algorithm and mathematical models as required.
  • Develop and implement product test plans and procedures. Possess a thorough understanding of project development, workflow processing techniques and familiar with MRP system.
  • Work effectively in a change-oriented environment, under very tight timeframes and be able to prioritize tasks.
  • Exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented work ethic.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Your Expertise
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent) degree
  • 10+ years' experience as a technical specialist in product offerings similar to NBS or MS EE or CE (or equivalent) or 8+ years' experience in similar field.
  • Strong programming, debugging and testing skills and experience programming with at least one application framework
  • Experience with embedded programming and IDEs such as MPLab IDE, Keil IDE, Visual Studio, PSOC creator, QtCreator
  • Familiarity with the Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with C, C++ and Visual Basic, with strength in at least one of these languages.
  • Experience with Qt, Azure, AI and large language models a plus
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA/Confluence and Git/Gitlab preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
