Primary Talent Partners has a 15 month contract opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join a multinational medical device company for an onsite position operating out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay: $40.00/hr - $50.00/hr based on experience
Contract: 15 months, extensions likely, conversion possible
Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship

Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key contributor in the research, design, and development of mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. This role involves supporting projects (Implantable Neurostimulators, External Neurostimulators and/or Patient Therapy Remotes) from conception to implementation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, product requirements, and best practices.

This individual will be teamed up with a Principal or Senior Principal R&D engineer who will coach, mentor, and provide day-to-day work direction.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Work on the design, development, and testing of medical devices (i.e. implantable neurostimulators), ensuring they meet all specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Coordinate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and production.
  • Product Testing and Verification: Conduct thorough testing and verification to ensure the device meets product requirements.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes and conduct testing to characterize, refine, and verify designs. This role will also be responsible for design characterization and design verification protocols, analysis and reports. This role could also include aspects of test equipment qualification and test method validation.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare detailed engineering documentation and ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and department best practices.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicate effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree is required -- Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Medical Device Design and Development: Experience in designing, prototyping, and testing medical devices
  • Good Documentation Practices: Experience authoring test protocols/reports, data collection, and data analysis while following good documentation practices.
  • Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex systems, analyze technical challenges, and develop innovative solutions
Preferred Skills:
  • Applied Minitab Analysis
  • Previous Medtech experience.
