About This Opportunity

FPA is looking for a motivated and energetic full-time GIS analyst for our Wall, NJ office who will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of GIS data and databases. The analyst will assist in the creation of maps, map books, and the setup of web mapping applications to facilitate field data collection. The analyst will also be required to complete field data collection with GPS devices. The analyst will be required to manage multiple competing demands and prioritize deliverables based upon importance and need. The analyst will be responsible for aiding in the completion of projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data from various sources, including remote sensing, field surveys, and public datasets.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to support decision-making processes and generate reports.
  • Develop and maintain spatial databases and data management systems.
  • Design and produce high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate findings and trends.
  • Create interactive web maps and dashboards for internal stakeholders or clients.
  • Use GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) to process and analyze spatial data.
  • Develop and automate GIS workflows using programming languages such as Python or SQL.
  • Collaborate with various departments (e.g., planning, engineering, environmental) to support project needs.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation to convey GIS findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist in the development, customization, and optimization of GIS applications and tools.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of GIS data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS systems and databases.
  • Stay current on GIS trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new GIS technologies and methodologies.
Job Requirements
  • 1-2 Years of experience with GIS
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, computer science, or related field
  • Experience utilizing the ESRI suite of software - Specifically: ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS field maps, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple complex job duties at one time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent process documentation skills.
Preferred but not required:
  • ArcGIS Web AppBuilder
  • Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS knowledge/experience
  • Microsoft PowerApps and the Power platform.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Python programming language
