The Office of Development and Alumni Relations lead the university's efforts to strengthen and promote philanthropic measures among students and alumni. We engage GW's more than 310,000 alumni worldwide by offering tools to connect and network, developing benefits and services, creating programs and events, providing opportunities to volunteer and give, and sharing news and information.

Position Specific Summary

As a Student Philanthropy Coordinator, you will play a vital role in promoting and enhancing a

culture of philanthropy among the student body. This includes participating in university wide fundraising efforts including Senior Class Gift and Giving Day. The Coordinator will be responsible for planning events, implementing marketing strategies, and educating fellow students about philanthropic opportunities.

Standard Position Description

The student will support the department or program by managing or running special projects or events, and serve as a liaison to build connections between the department and other individuals and groups Tasks may include: develop or manage projects/programs, provide logistic, administrative, and/or marketing support, give presentations for the department/program, provide mentorship and/or offer peer-to-peer academic, career, and/or personal guidance on a group or individual basis, represent the department/program at university or community events, and may include some general supervision of students or student staff. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
