We're Hiring: Maintenance Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $51K/yr.

Job Summary: Supervise, motivate, and manage the cemetery laborers for 2 locations. The right candidate is organized and focused on the appearance of the parks. The candidate will be able to look at the property, identify deficiencies, and direct the laborers to take corrective action. You should be comfortable directing and delegating but also willing to work alongside the crew on projects to achieve the necessary results. Responsible for keeping the cemetery parks looking good and up to our standards. Some travel is required between two (2) parks, one in Charlotte, NC, and one in Rock Hill, SC (40 minutes apart). A travel stipend or mileage will be paid. The Maintenance Manager will lead projects at the parks such as light construction, landscaping, and installation of memorials and markers at grave sites.

What You'll do:
  • Engage with adjusters, third-party administrators, and restoration contractors via telephone.
  • Must have experience running heavy equipment, specifically backhoes tractors, and zero-turn mowers.
  • Experience managing a crew of 4-6 employees. Must be able to delegate daily work activities.
  • Must be comfortable holding employees accountable for daily work.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize work. Work order system in place so you must have experience using technology and using technology to respond to (email) management and close work orders.
  • You should be experienced with corresponding via emails and communicating to leadership in both writing and verbally about results.
  • Must be comfortable talking to customers visiting the park. A customer service mentality is important.
  • Must be able to remain calm and focused if complaints are raised and focused on addressing the issues timely.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance on mowers, backhoes, trucks, and tractors.
  • Preferred cemetery, golf course, or property management experience.
  • Comfortable with being hands-on. Digging, lifting, and moving dirt and stone. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Can operate handheld tools and equipment including but not limited to shovel, pick, rake, weed trimmer, leaf blower, and water pump.
What You'll Need:
  • HS Diploma
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • CDL is preferred but not required.
  • Prior Military experience preferred.
  • Groundskeeping experience preferred.
