Position Summary
As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day transportation operations for both drayage and domestic freight. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients and carriers, ensuring efficient logistics execution, exceptional customer service, and continuous growth on assigned accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams to maintain smooth operations.
  • Manage shipment tracking, tracing, and data entry in the Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Procure dependable carriers, negotiate competitive rates, and ensure service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Monitor and address urgent operational challenges, including delays caused by traffic, weather, or other unforeseen events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements, cost-saving measures, and delivery optimizations.
  • Analyze transportation data to uncover trends, optimize processes, and improve overall performance.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all operations.
  • Support safety, service, and troubleshooting efforts to resolve operational issues proactively.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or similar logistics software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations and solve problems on the fly.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellence.
