The position is through Northwest Educational Council for Student Success (NECSS). District 211 is part of the Northwest Suburban Education to Careers Partnership with Districts 214, 220, and Harper College
Position Detail:
  • The positions will run from August through May
  • 25-29 hours per week
  • The rate of pay is $21.00 per hour
  • Grant-funded position
Description:
Career Advisors are assigned to one of the D211 high schools and collaborate with district staff, students, school counselors, teachers, parents and community partners to
• Organize and implement career pathway programming including, but not limited to, coordinating worksite experiences, guest speakers, job fairs, career fairs and career pathway exploration activities.
• Support student exploration through personality, skills and interest inventory assessments, career pathway presentations and resume building workshops
• Attend networking and other industry events to expand the network of community partnerships
• Collaborate with the District Work Based Learning Coordinator and Career Advisors
• Maintain student job boards and volunteer opportunities
• Collect and record all data necessary aligned with grant requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Keen interest in helping students develop the skills
  • Knowledge needed for career exploration
  • Successful experience in business networking
