Job Title: Mammography Technologist

Reports To: Office Supervisor

Job Summary: Performs Mammograms

Candidate must have 1 years experience, ARRT and FL X-ray and mammography licenses. CEU compliant, MQSA compliant for mammography. Mammography certification or registry eligible required. Must be registered in Radiology and Mammography.

Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Responsible for the workflow and assure exams are done in a timely manner.
  • Review schedules for patient appointment times.
  • Ensure encounter and prescription with diagnosis and procedure is correct before
  • performing exam.
  • Evaluate and obtain history on patient and document for Radiologist.
  • Have patient sign pregnancy form as needed.
  • Critique images before sending to Radiologist via PACS.
  • Escort patients to waiting area when finished.
  • May be responsible for Quality Control for the Mammography machine .
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure exams rooms are stocked and soiled linen removed daily.
  • Ensure disinfectant cleaner for mammography machine is readily available.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Keep supplies stocked and readily available.
  • Inform supervisor ASAP if equipment malfunctions.
  • Assure all continuing education requirements are met.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Normal physical ability; may require some bending, lifting, and long periods of standing or walking.
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making.
  • High level of verbal and written communication.
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Completes End of Day Process:
  • Empties HIPPA container into destruction bin.
  • Logs off Intergy and PACS and out of computers at end of day.
Occupational Exposure:

Moderate risk for exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School graduate
  • CEU compliant, MQSA compliant for mammography.
  • ARRT and current x-ray and mammography Florida license.
  • Mammography certification or registry eligible required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and radiation protection.
  • Skilled in patient positioning and knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Computer proficiency.
