Dev Tester Job Description:

Overview:
Seeking a Junior-to-Mid level Tester that has strong REST API and Python experience. Our team develops a set of backend microservices working to handle passive processes and manual operations on Spectrum's Advanced In-Home Wifi router. We are seeking to grow our manual test team as we continue to develop more features.

This person will be doing 50% Manual Testing and 50% Automation.

Our team develops a Single Page Application written in ReactJS on the front-end and a suite of microservices comprising the back-end written in Java. We are seeking to grow our automation test suites encompassing integration and end-to-end UI tests.

Must have:

• Strong understanding of REST concepts and API testing
• Backend microservice testing experience
• Strong Python, Java, and Javascript skills
• Heavy experience developing tests using JUnit/TestNG (Java), Jest (Javascript)
• Current UI/E2E automation testing
• End-to-end testing experience
• Defect troubleshooting, debugging experience
• Strong test documentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience in/with:

• Postman, Curl, Swagger
• Kafka or message-driven testing (RabbitMQ, Spark, etc)
• Commandline-oriented testing, Unix, Mac
• Kubernetes understanding and exposure
• NoSQL database testing (ElasticsearchDB, MongoDB, etc)
• Testrail test documentation software
• JIRA/Agile methodology

Nice to have:

• Java & Spring Boot skills
• Experience developing automated tests using Junit/TestNG
• AWS exposure
• Docker understanding and exposure

Required Skills : NOTES: -Looking for a mid level resource -the Manual portion will be focused on APIs, ensuring all calls are working -documentation is key along with their ability to put what is needed into tickets in detail -test cases need to be good enough to hand off, candidate need to be able to explain and carry themselves -Someone should feel comfortable in a hybrid manual/automation role
