Overview

Steel Dynamics, Inc. announced its entry into the flat rolled aluminum market with a revolutionary 650,000 tonne per year facility in Columbus, Mississippi. Aluminum Dynamics is SDI's first aluminum facility, projected to start in 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of this new market for SDI. This position will begin simultaneously with constructing this multi-billion-dollar facility, providing the unique opportunity to help design and implement systems and procedures required by the mill.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

- Reviews, analyzes, and modifies software applications including coding, testing, debugging, and documenting.

- Provides user support for software applications, including bug fixes and training.

- Gathers software requirements through collaboration with end users and stakeholders.

- Tracks milestones, deliverables, change requests, etc., throughout the project lifecycle.

- Engage in peer code reviews and testing to ensure code quality and application functionality.

- Ensures the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and maintains the integrity of user experience in the final product.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

- Bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.

- Proven work experience as a Software Developer/Engineer with a strong focus on UI/UX design.

- Proficient understanding of HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and frameworks such as React.js.

- Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills.

- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred:

- Professional experience with modern software development practices in an enterprise environment.

- Willingness to learn new development languages and tools.

- .NET and/or C# experience.

- Knowledge of database procedures and T-SQL concepts.

- Proven experience in project management and software development.

- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
