Position Description

The Document Control Specialist II executes all aspects of documentation control in accordance with ISO 9001. This involves managing the ECO process, reviewing documents, maintaining pertinent documentation, and ensuring that revision control is implemented. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and proactively with product management, engineering, supply chain and operations. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with ERP and Change Management (Solidworks Manage) systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review engineering change request content and structure for accuracy, auditing BOM changes, and other required validation activities.
  • Manage all engineering changes and coordinate change activities with other groups.
  • Ensure timely execution of Engineering Change activities through a regular cadence of reviews and updates.
  • Update ERP and other business systems based on content of completed change requests.
  • Maintain an effective communication plan for change releases to ensure the organization is properly informed.
  • Drive adherence to business processes, especially for Engineering Changes and related functions.
  • Ability to create (with direction) and report metrics pertain to configuration management.
  • Establish and maintain revision control for all controlled documents falling under department's purview.
  • Ability to adapt to new software platforms as needed.
  • Identify and execute actions to reduce turnaround time for ECO

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of Document Control / Change Management Experience
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalency
  • Experience in an ISO Certified Manufacturing or Engineering setting
  • Working knowledge of ERP
  • Experience with processing BOM's, ECN's and working in SolidWorks PDM or similar PLM tool
  • Experience reading CAD drawings
  • MS Office with focus on Excel

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ( Navision ) or similar ERP
  • Exposure with Smartsheet.
  • One year of practical electronics components experience
  • Experience in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Tool
  • Exposure to Solidworks Manage a plus
  • Additional languages (Spanish, Chinese) a plus
