Infectious Disease Specialists focus on diagnosing and treating infections and diseases caused by pathogens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose complex infectious diseases.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans for infectious conditions.
  • Educate healthcare teams and patients on infection prevention.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Completion of internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship.
  • Board certification in infectious disease.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting lab results.
  • Good communication skills for patient education.
