Job Description

Under direction of the Chief Operations Officer, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Director of Marketing and Communications will develop, establish, implement and monitor promotional marketing and communication models, plans and practices for promotion to the public and NYC Health + Hospitals/Community Care's employees, objectives, policies and corporate achievements with the objective of building and enhancing Community Care's Corporate identity.

Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for public relations, strategic communications, marketing, business integration, and building internal/external relationships across the system. The Director will liaise with leadership at each facility to promote and support the continuum of care in patients' homes and communities. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for creating and managing cross-organizational and integrated marketing operations.
• Develop and maintain analytics of traditional marketing and social media.
• Identify and develop new revenue sources including but not limited to health care institutions, clinics leadership, insurance companies and other key stakeholders.
• Serve as internal liaison to clinical departments and other staff employees.
• Coordinating outreach activities as part of the development and production of educational and promotional materials, web site production and other assets.
• Provide writing and editing support for all communication including all promotional materials, website content, a monthly newsletter and the agencies annual report.
• Review promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling implications and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual marketing plan for the organization.
• Create and perform assessments of all marketing needs within the system to be used as foundation for creation of comprehensive marketing plan for Community Care and its lines of business.
• Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive annual marketing program that will enhance Community Care's image and position amongst all stakeholders within the system, marketplace and the general public.
• Develop short and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
• Create and maintain information on community assets, competition and target neighborhoods for growth.
• Assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the organization and ensure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internally and externally.
• Coordinate the appearance of all print and digital assets, branding, brochures, and signage.
• Run awareness campaigns and evaluate their success for replication.
• Manage corporate website and any external marketing/design partners and vendors.
• Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.
• Tracks and evaluates results of marketing campaigns and programs and how it contributes to revenue.
• Envisions creative marketing and branding campaigns, provides direction to the marketing and engagement team and oversees the development and production of marketing materials that are consistent with the brand strategy.
• Ensures that the brand is consistently promoted throughout all target markets. Ensures that branding efforts achieve maximum impact and favorably increase member, provider and community impressions.
• Supervision of M&C staff including the Assistant Director of Communications and Graphic Designer
• Ensure close collaboration and coordination with external partners, informing them of the function and mission of the agency.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:

A Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Social Work, Journalism or approved related fields: and

Six years of responsible public relations and marketing experience involving relations with the press and communications media, employee relations, communications, community affairs, public information, Corporate and business affairs, governmental and legislative affairs and relations, including three years in supervisory, administrative or management functions and activities; or,
3. A satisfactory combination of equivalent training, education and experience

Department Preferences

Department Preferences:
• Minimum 2 years of community relations experience preferred
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and proficient in Associated Press style writing standards
• Demonstrate effective verbal, written and broad communications experience with depth in media relations, issues management and crisis communication
• Demonstrate sound decision-making problem solving, good judgement, research and presentation skills
• Strong understanding of social media management tools (e.g. hoot suite)
• Ability to understand when to escalate erroneous/inconsistent information discovered in resources to appropriate level of management for review
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Must be outgoing and must demonstrate enthusiasm for motivating people
• Must have experience in strategic communication and integrated marketing
• Demonstrate analytical and persuasion/negotiation skills
• Capacity to work independently and in a collaborative environment
• Ability to work well under pressure, maintain deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects
• Strong understanding of adobe creative suite to complete certain moderate to complex design tasks
• Computer proficiency- must possess knowledge in Microsoft Office (word, Excel, PowerPoint), use of Internet
• Knowledge in operating general office equipment such as telephone, computer, related media and information devices, fax and copy machine
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a motor vehicle with valid motor vehicle insurance. Must be able to travel within NYC, as needed
