St. John's is seeking a full-time, permanent Recreation Coordinator for our RTC residential program.

Full-time, permanent 40-hour per week position with some evening/weekends as needed.

*A Valid NYS Drivers License is required for this role.

Education Requirements: Minimum HS Diploma/ equivalent required; Some knowledge of child welfare, preferably congregate care and activities coordination is a plus.

Job Summary: The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for daily/weekly youth engagement and activities for assigned youth. Assumes responsibility for knowledge of community affairs/ events appropriate for youth. Must have an ability to multi-task, plan and execute community events as well as onsite activities. Provides a broad and creative array of organized, recreational activity on and off-grounds for the youth (typically) during afternoon and evening time slots (i.e., non-school hours). Activities include sports (basketball/softball/flag football/volleyball and the like), tournaments, special events, parlor games, clubs and field trips. Measure of success is how many youths productively engage in the activities provided.
