Fremont School District 79 is seeking a Social Worker for the 2024-2025 school year.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/ Director of Student Services

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Illinois Professional Educator License;
  • School Social Work Endorsement; and
  • Master's Degree in Social Work with specialization in School Social Work.
POSITION SUMMARY:

To help students resolve such personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to benefit from educational programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed.
  • Completes social developmental study component of case study evaluations and re-evaluations.
  • Maintains accurate and sufficient record of services provided to students.
  • Consults and collaborates with classroom teachers and other school personnel.
  • Provides supports to parents, including parent education and supporting parent access to community resources.
  • Acts as a liaison between school and community agencies.
  • Contributes to social/emotional curriculum.
  • Attends and is an active participant in Problem Solving Teams and Multidisciplinary Conferences.
  • Provides inservice to school staff, parents, and community on social/emotional issues.
  • Provides direct service in individual or group settings to students identified as having personal, social or emotional problems which impact on educational performance.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services or the Principal.
