Fremont School District 79 is seeking a Social Worker for the 2024-2025 school year.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/ Director of Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Professional Educator License;
- School Social Work Endorsement; and
- Master's Degree in Social Work with specialization in School Social Work.
To help students resolve such personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to benefit from educational programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides crisis intervention as needed.
- Completes social developmental study component of case study evaluations and re-evaluations.
- Maintains accurate and sufficient record of services provided to students.
- Consults and collaborates with classroom teachers and other school personnel.
- Provides supports to parents, including parent education and supporting parent access to community resources.
- Acts as a liaison between school and community agencies.
- Contributes to social/emotional curriculum.
- Attends and is an active participant in Problem Solving Teams and Multidisciplinary Conferences.
- Provides inservice to school staff, parents, and community on social/emotional issues.
- Provides direct service in individual or group settings to students identified as having personal, social or emotional problems which impact on educational performance.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services or the Principal.
