Responsibilities Position Summary: In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers health care philosophy the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing direct patient care in an ambulatory setting Qualifications Minimum: Possession of a valid California License as a Registered Nurse Possession of a California Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner Certificate as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner One (1) year experience as a registered Nurse on a Psychiatric Inpatient Unit Psychiatric Emergency Service clinic or Mental Health Center OR Possession of a valid permanent California License as a Physician Assistant issued by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance and one (1) year experience as a Physician Assistant on a Psychiatric Inpatient Unit Psychiatric Emergency Service clinic or Mental Health Center. Verification/Waiver: Verification of qualifying experience education and/or training is required at the time of filing. Candidates unable to do so may submit a letter requesting a waiver of this requirement indicating the reason(s) a verification cannot be obtained. Failure to submit verification or request for the waiver will result in application rejection. Communications Candidates must possess the following abilities: to express oneself effectively both orally and in writing; actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; speak and write English clearly; read and understand correspondence memoranda and directives and effectively represent the organization department and its operations to management and the public. Decision Making This position requires that the candidate is able to act in a decisive manner using good judgment; manage diverse functions; assess problems and situations and anticipate needs and evaluate alternatives. Professional Attitude It is expected that the candidate will hold the following professional attributes: dependability: maturity in relationships with others; self-confidence; willingness to take initiative: commitment to the organization; and represent the organization to other agencies staff and the public with a courteous helpful accurate and business-like attitude in all telephone email and in personal contact. Preferred: Minimum five years’ experience in acute care facility i.e. hospital; specialty training in areas of trauma/urgent care pediatrics and gynecology minor office surgical procedures.
