QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current IL PEL
  • Three (3) or more years of successful teaching experience.
  • Type 75 is preferred.
  • Educational leadership and/or summer school experience preferred
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish is preferred.
JOB GOAL:

To support and organize the development and implementation of summer programing throughout the District, including ESY and Summer School

REPORTS TO: Director ofTeaching & Learning

SUPERVISES: ESY and Summer School Staff

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and supports participating students and staff
  • Manages day to day operations through the duration of the program
  • Supports staff preparedness
  • Secures and supervises substitute teachers
  • Coordinates transportation needs, including drop off and pick up procedures
  • Manages and addresses student behavior
  • Manages snacks and distribution to students
  • Partners with District Program Leaders to support the development and implementation of a successful summer program
  • Work collaboratively with the Summer School Coordinator
  • Conduct other duties as assigned related to overall program organization.
TECHNICAL
SKILLS: The individual must be proficient in computer usage, word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation and other school-based software.

TRAVEL
REQUIREMENTS: The individual will need to provide own transportation to district and professional meetings as required.

OTHER SKILLS
AND ABILITIES: Ability to keep regular schedules and perform special tasks as assigned. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board policies.

DUTIES: Performs other related tasks and/or duties as assigned by the administration.

STIPEND PAY: $4400
  • June 2nd-25th for Summer School and ESY (15 days)
    • No School on Friday's and June 19th
      • June 2 - June 5 (4 days ESY & SS)
      • June 9 - June 12 (4 days ESY & SS)
      • June 16, 17, 18 (3 days ESY & SS)
      • June 23-June 26 (4 days ESY & SS)

    • 8:00 - 11:00 Student Day Rising 1-8
    • 8:00-10:30 Student Day PK
    • 7:45 - 11:15 Teacher Day (30 mpd entrance and dismissal student supervision; 30 minute plan during specials time for rising 1-8 and PK 30 mpd plan after student day- No Specials at PK)
    • 7:45-11:15 Para pro day 30 mpd entrance and dismissal student supervision PK-8. PK only 30 mpd toy cleaning, visual support making, etc.
