Job Description:

The Support Specialist supports the effective operation and administrative needs of the Child Development Department through the implementation of systems to include monitoring and tracking essential data. Maintains up to date records, documentation, and scheduling of department functions. Ensures comprehensive department communication and manages the day-to-day operations of the CD office.

Pay Scale:

$19.17 / Hour

At CPCD, we provide more than 1,500 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Our additional health, dental, and family support services ensure that children enrolled in our programs are ready to succeed in school and life. CPCD offers paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays/Breaks.

  • Paid Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
  • At least one year office experience.
  • Accurately type 50 WPM, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, proficient in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.), and Outlook.
  • Able to operate general office machines and technology such as telephone, printer/scanner, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Reliable and highly organized, able to work under pressure, and accurate in record keeping abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills to work professionally and positively with parents, children, and staff.
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information he/she will be handling.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.
Preferred:
  • Associate degree in a business-related field.
