We recognize that each of our employees is a unique individual with the ability to contribute to our success and seek to find great people who will thrive in our fun, fast-paced culture.The production assembly team at Thorlabs Measurement Systems assembles precision, multiprobe video measurement systems, their subassemblies, and associated metrology products. This position operates among a diverse team of assemblers, technicians, and engineers, conducting daily assembly tasks under the guidance of experienced team members. While this position is based in Sparta, NJ, up to 10% travel may be required to customer locations and other Thorlabs sites.RequirementsEssential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:Ability to understand written and oral procedures for a wide range of products, subassemblies, and system builds.Executes assigned builds within the required , to the highest of quality standards, and in compliance with the specified build procedure and Bill of Materials.Conducts Quality Control inspections as specified in the written or oral procedures.Assists with documenting and improving build procedures at the direction of the production manager.Communicates discrepancies between procedures and the Bill of Materials when identified, to ensure inventory is accurate and corrective actions are implemented.Assists in inventory cycle-counting as required and notifies supervisor of low stock levels.Physical Activities:The employees must grasp, manipulate, or assemble parts and components that are often small. As a result, they should have a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination. Work may be sedentary, could stand, or sit for long durations and/or perform repetitious work at times. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally. Employees may be required to work with chemical-based products on the production floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.QualificationsExperience:6 months of prior experience in a similar position preferred. Education:High School diploma or equivalentSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.Ability to interpret, follow, edit, and provide feedback on written work instructions.Strong attention to detail and organization skills.Ability to work well in a diverse and dynamic team environment and comply with high quality standards.Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
