Driver Guard

Candidates who do not possess required license to carry permit and 47 hours armed carrier guard certification will start employment as a Driver. Once an employee has obtained the required license and certification, they will be assigned duties of Driver Guard/Armed Messenger.
Key Role and Responsibility - Driver/Armed Guard/Messenger:
- Maintaining safety, security and control of the armored vehicle at all times by adhering to company's safety policies and procedures
- Maintain radio communication with branch and/or dispatch
- Load and unload the armored vehicle at base and assisting messenger in doing the same
- Completing and updating appropriate driving and delivery documentation such as checking off the routes and customer receipts etc.
- Ensure overall cleanliness of vehicle interior
- Cross train and perform other assigned duties
- Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections and notify any faults experienced before or during the route
- Must be able to drive vehicles weighing between ten thousand to twenty-six thousand pounds.
- Must be able to follow and uphold company's safety and security policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid state driver's license
- Have a minimum of three years of driving experience
- Ability to carry and use a firearm on duty
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays and work over-time when required
- Agree to follow firearms, driving and operational procedures.
- Ability to work alone and as a team
The Company sponsors and pays 100% of the fees associated with obtaining and maintaining your gun permit.
- Ability to obtain and carry a valid city/county permit for a handgun.
- Ability to obtain and carry a valid class D operator driver's license.
- Ability to obtain the 47-hour armed guard course certificate/training sponsored by the company (NYC Employees only)
- Obtain any other ID's, licenses or registrations required by local, state, or federal authorities.
- Having Armed Carrier Guard License, law enforcement and military background or related professional driving experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 2,500 pounds (coin skid) with a hand pallet jack
- Ability to sit in and drive company vehicles for extended periods
- Ability to step in and out of the vehicle's multiple times to service customer locations/ATMs
- Ability to lean over multiple times to open the passenger side door and bend/crawl to the back of the vehicle multiple times to open the back door
- Ability to sit in and drive company vehicles for extended periods
- Ability to start early morning and work until route ends
- Ability to work any of the given days of the week including weekends and holidays
- Attendance and punctuality are particularly essential as generally there are no "back-up" personnel to staff this shift.
