Primary Purpose:
Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district or at assigned campus. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Clear and valid driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of computer workstation setup
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to install, maintain, and repair computer and peripherals.
Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware.
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
One year of work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technical Support
1. Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.
2. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
3. Install and configure software as needed.
4. Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications circuits and equipment.
Equipment Repair and Maintenance
5. Diagnose and repair equipment, including printers, and computers.
6. Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule.
7. Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service,
Safety
8. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
9. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and carrying.
10. Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
Other
11. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Educator Certification rule, and local board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.

13. Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff, and other professionals at all times.
14. Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to the appropriate staff.

16. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.

Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; computers and peripherals including tablets and smart phones.
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders.
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting ( 45 pounds and over )
Environment: Exposure to electrical hazards; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and in critical needs areas.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
