Chemours is seeking a Packing Technician to join our growing Titanium Technologies team This position will be report directly to the Packing & Finishing First Line Supervisor at our Delisle, MS location.

This role will perform all functions associated with operating and maintaining equipment used to collect dry pigment, package dry pigment, and convey material for end of line pick up. Must be able to maintain safety standards at all times, initiating and following emergency procedures when necessary.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Operate hand tools, manual valves, feed screws, blowers, automatic packers, sealers, conveyors, printers, palletizers, presses, stretch wrap machines, pallet inverters, balers, pallet lifts, hoists, forklift trucks, and other mobile equipment.
  • Perform lock, tag, and try to de-energize equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and performs basic maintenance on equipment to resolve issues and restore process operation using mechanical knowledge, equipment specification sheets and manufacturer literature.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance and proactively identifies and submits work notifications for future planned maintenance needs.
  • Completes operator rounds multiple times per shift, adjusting as needed.
  • Routinely completes housekeeping tasks.
  • Continually works to improve the area, meeting business, site, and area goals.
  • Lift up to 55 lbs. multiple times per shift.
  • Climbs multiple flights of stairs per shift.
  • Changes out filter bags.
The following is required for this role:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current, valid driver's license
  • Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and overtime as required
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respiratory as required.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude and able to demonstrate troubleshooting and planning skills
The following is preferred for this role:
  • Previous experience as an operator in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment
  • Completion of 2-year Maintenance-related Technical program or 2-years of Maintenance experience or NCCER certification.
