About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join an New Product Development (NPD) team. You will be supporting an NPD project from early new product development through commercialization. This team functions in a fast paced and dynamic environment where taking initiative and collaborating cross-functionally are critical for success. This role will provide opportunities for an innovative problem solver to identify critical uncertainties, design targeted experiments, build prototypes, execute design control and define and assess fitness for use.

This position will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop deep technical knowledge of the product and product documentation to support quality processes
  • Ensure continued compliance to applicable standards/ guidelines for product design and performance, addressing documentation gaps and updates
  • Document and communicate technical plans, experimental results, and conclusions of work to satisfy quality system requirements and enable future use of knowledge
  • Ensure design requirements are met by owning quality engineering design control deliverables and maintaining product Design History Files (i.e. Design input/output documentation, Risk management tools)
  • Provide support and mentorship utilizing engineering principles and historical/materials/clinical/mechanical knowledge to ensure quality decisions are made related to product release, and supplier quality
  • Maintain working knowledge of all implemented test methods, necessary test method validations, and validated test equipment
  • Employ statistical techniques to promote data driven decisions to establish sampling plans/troubleshoot/drive continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering or science with a minimum of 3 years quality engineering work experience
  • Knowledge in product risk management (risk identification, analysis, and mitigation methods)
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and drive projects concurrently from development to completion against agreed upon timelines and deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiments, statistically analyze the results and provide data supported decisions
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize projects on aggressive timelines
  • Ability to work effectively in team situations, building an inclusive environment, mentoring others as well as the ability to independently prioritize, initiate and drive projects to completion
  • Hands-on working style
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with external Quality Management System (QMS)
