Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Engineer to join the Bonnell Aluminum (Niles) team. We are a vertically integrated aluminum extrusion company with a dedicated fabrication department. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise and project management skills to lead and manage departmental and plant-level projects from conception through completion. This position requires a thorough understanding of fabrication techniques, a working knowledge of the extrusion processes, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee all phases of project development, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. Provide oversight of vendors and contractors as needed for specific projects.
  • Engineering Expertise: Apply engineering principles to design, develop, and improve extrusion and fabrication processes.
  • Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and fabricators, to achieve project objectives.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and meeting financial targets.
  • Timeline Management: Create detailed project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to equipment and operating procedures to improve productivity.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all products meet industry standards and client specifications.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by recommending and implementing process enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or project engineering within the extrusion or fabrication industries with a demonstrated track record of successful implementation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and a strong understanding of extrusion and fabrication processes.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certifications: PMP or similar project management certification is an advantage.

Bonnell Aluminum is North America's premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. We manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.

We produce large diameter extrusions requiring high-quality surface finish up to 16 inches in circle size. Fabricators and distributors use our extruded profiles in various applications: curtain walls, storefronts, light to heavy commercial and institutional windows, walkway covers, interior architectural products, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, heat sinks for L.E.D. lighting, shower enclosures, hurricane protection products, automotive, light trucks, recreational vehicles, and industrial machinery.

We are headquartered in Newnan, Georgia. We have manufacturing operations in Newnan, Georgia; Carthage, Tennessee; Niles, Michigan; Clearfield, Utah; and Elkhart, Indiana.
