Insurance Benefits Coordinator

*Description*
Provides the Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and patients with the support services they need to for therapy services by calling on insurance benefits, tracking authorization deadlines, and obtaining therapy referrals.
-Verify all therapy patients' insurance coverage and document it accordingly in patient chart
-Insurance Authorization and Medicare, Medicaid Compliance.
-Check for referrals and therapy visit authorizations.
-Fax or utilize insurance website portals to request authorization of therapy visits.
-Monitor number of therapy visits used within EMR system.
-Inform therapists of insurance requirement changes and coverage limitations on case-by-case basis.
-Perform designated tasks listed in the "PT only" and "No Therapy Coverage" policies.
-Fax/ upload into Forward Health portal and look over all Medical Assistance prior authorization forms. Contact Medical Assistance as needed regarding patients and what is covered.
-Document information disclosure as needed when faxes sent out
-Daily communication with therapy team
-Communicate work completion status and help needs with team members as needed
