We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Housekeeper | Family Assistant to support the daily operations of a well-organized, casually refined household in Burlingame, California. This role is ideal for a proactive, polished professional who excels at maintaining a pristine, smoothly-run home while working quietly in the background. The client anticipates moving to a larger residence in the next year or two, and while the role may expand, the primary focus will remain on delivering high-quality care and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the home.

Responsibilities include daily and weekly cleaning, meal preparation, and errands. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, discreet, and committed to high standards of cleanliness and professionalism, helping the household run seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Monday-Friday; 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Must be local to the Bay Area
  • Must have at least 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a household
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily and weekly deep cleaning of the home to maintain a clean, well-organized environment.
  • Handle laundry with attention to detail, ensuring items are folded and stored according to the client's preferences - this includes clothing items and some household linens. Bed linens are sent to the dry cleaner to ease ironing requirements.
  • Conduct grocery shopping twice weekly to ensure pantry staples are always stocked and to purchase ingredients for meal preparation.
  • Assist with meal preparation by following specific recipes provided by the client.
  • Manage household errands such as bringing in packages, scheduling and overseeing service vendors, and arranging car cleanings.
  • Help prepare for family events or dinner parties by being available as needed to assist with setup and cleanup.
  • Ensure timely and thorough completion of tasks without needing constant oversight, working independently.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional housekeeping and family assistant experience in private households.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively anticipate needs.
  • Highly organized with polished communication skills and the ability to work discreetly and unobtrusively.
  • Must love pets and be comfortable managing pet-related cleaning needs (two cats and a dog in the home).
  • Physically capable of maintaining a clean environment, including managing pet hair.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Must have strong employment references and must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check.
  • Must be local to the Bay Area.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have access to a vehicle and a clean driving record.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $50+ per hour | depending on experience.
  • Monthly medical stipend.
  • 10 days of paid time off, accrued.
  • 3 sick days per year, accrued.
  • 8 paid holidays when they fall on a scheduled work day: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day.
  • Discretionary bonus based on performance.
