About the job

Coordinates activities in purchasing and scheduling to assure materials and products are delivered on time with the highest quality at the lowest possible cost. Assures materials and products meet inventory and cost objectives. Travel is not required. This position has no personnel management responsibilities and reports to the Senior Inventory and Procurement Specialist. The normal shift is 40 hours per week in the office, with periodic extended hours, as needed. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain minimal inventories to produce manufactured goods while maintaining lowest cost
  • Develops system(s) to provide evaluation of vendor selection and improvement(s) to existing reporting systems used to track and support inventory reporting and control.
  • Draws up master schedule for processing and packaging of manufactured goods based on forecasted sales and establishes sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Manages and improves supplier relationships and develops alternative sourcing, e.g. cost reductions, quality concerns, improvements in lead time reduction, and negotiating contracts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive computer skills and thorough familiarity with MS Office or other computer software;
  • Experience dealing in a multi-facility organization with various stakeholders
  • Solid organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations.
