Clinical Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversight of the clinical care in the Community and/or Outpatient Treatment Center (OTC) to assure substance abuse and psychological services are provided to chemically dependent Native American men, women, their families, and other special needs populations. Evaluates the services provided and outcomes achieved by the team, recommends enhancements and/or improvements for programs and staff development to ensure consistent cost effectiveness and compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines in day-to-day activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides administrative and clinical supervision to staff including preparation of formal evaluation of employee performance as needed and required.
- Assists with informing employees on NAC policy and procedure, State licensure requirements and ensures the accurate dissemination of this information.
- Supervises weekly clinical case staffing with supervised staff.
- Provides and documents regular supervision to staff per NAC policy.
- Works closely with the Clinical Director of Integrated Health to ensure a seamless delivery of service for clients from registration through discharge.
- Selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and holds staff accountable; communicates job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation for staff supervised.
- Meets admissions operational standards by contributing information to the leadership team; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
- Approves/signs off on all clinical documentation to ensure timely, comprehensive, and accurate clinical documentation is completed by Clinicians and Community Health Workers.
- Maintains strong working and referral relationships with all existing contractors and collaborators, potential contractors and other numerous community and referral agencies.
- Highly accomplishes Community Census by implementing and overseeing procedures around daily re-structuring of priority clients into treatment; identifying and monitoring potential problem clerical or system practices; thinking strategically to remove barriers to timely referral processing, assessment completion of admission.
- Responsible for providing a positive customer experience including implementation of client centered processes while removing any/all possible access to care barriers.
- Works with management team to prepare and revise agency-wide clinical policy, procedures, and vision.
- Ensures in-service education and training to all clinical staff to ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and to maintain a high degree of clinical knowledge throughout episodes of care.
- Oversees and approves the curriculum and clinical treatment programs to reflect the needs of the targeted population and consistency of treatment services throughout the agency.
- Works with the Clinical Director of Integrated Health on oversight of the completion of data and submits reports of activities, utilization, and encounters on a regular basis.
- Upholds the policies and procedures for maintaining accurate client case records in accordance with agency record keeping requirements.
- Supervises and ensures the integration of therapeutic treatment with traditional methods of healing and recovery.
- Assists the Clinical Director of Integrated Health with ongoing tribal marketing and outreach efforts to grow the program as needed.
- Supports and directs the integration of agency and community activities and special events into the daily operation of the program and effectively distributes the flow of information to staff and clients.
- May provide substance use counseling to individuals/groups in the areas outlined in the program description and structure of content.
- Participates in Circle of Strength (COS) at least once per year.
- Support and actively engage in practices of inclusion through Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in the behavioral health field, AND
- AZ Board of Behavioral Health License, Independent License required
- Minimum three years' experience and professional knowledge in substance abuse, mental health, and psycho-educational programs; evaluation and diagnosis; 12-step programs and self-help groups; and treatment modalities that are effective with the target population.
- Experience and ability to supervise approximately (10) employees, with at least 3 years supervisory experience in substance abuse.
- Experience with assessment tools that pertain to substance abuse, depression, and other behavioral health issues preferred.
- Experience working with RBHA, TRBHA and various EHR platforms preferred.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card upon hire.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in working with the Native American population preferred.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to work well with others in a team approach.
- Requires strong managerial and leadership skills.
- Required strong clinical skills.
- Knowledgeable about the economic, educational, and social challenges of Native Americans.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Bilingual- Spanish desired.
