Fire Systems Designer

Position: Fire Systems Designer Location: Nashville, TN Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Company Overview: Our client is seeking a talented Fire Systems Designer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and designs for fire protection and low voltage systems across various settings, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, offices, and industrial locations. Your work will encompass designing systems for fire alarms, low voltage requirements, and special hazard areas. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop plans and drawings for the installation and commissioning of fire protection systems. - Apply knowledge of NFPA standards and building codes to design projects. - Interpret and understand architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings. - Create accurate parts lists for project implementation. - Attend project kick-off meetings to coordinate design, CAD work, and pre-fabrication. - Collaborate with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to review project design and execution. - Assist in estimating project costs and requirements. - Visit job sites to aid in installation, system activation, and testing. - Work closely with sales and estimating teams to prepare bid packages. - Recommend and implement enhancements to existing systems. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire alarm system design. - Proficiency in AutoCAD. - Ability to read and understand architectural and MEP drawings.
