Responsibilities
  • Process medication orders including drug dispensing, compounding, and distribution with accuracy and efficiency
  • Deliver optimal pharmacotherapy that is safe and efficacious
  • Clinical drug monitoring/consultation
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals to manage patient drug therapies
  • Daily reactive and targeted proactive medication regimen reviews within designated area(s)
  • Quality assurance and improvement
  • Provide drug information support or drug teaching upon request
  • Willingness to precept pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents
  • Promote a positive work environment that contributes to a team focused work unit
  • All in accordance with applicable state and/or federal statutes and established hospital policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the activities of supportive personnel.
  • Acts as Pharmacist-In-Charge in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy when so designated.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an AACP-accredited college of pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist, State of Texas (or eligible by reciprocity or board examination)

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Prior hospital pharmacy practice experience, or ASHP-accredited residency in hospital pharmacy practice and/or advanced pharmacy degree
