Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a full time SPD Tech to join our team Assembly of surgical trays, answering telephones from areas of need, case cart assembly, soiled tray are and individual sterile wrap area and weekend rotation, use of T-doc computer system, OR rounding to support any issues or concerns Maintains par levels of stock and supplies for sterile storage and patient ready to insure availability Consistently strives to complete deliveries promptly Communicates with supervisor to ensure that special orders are complete and accurate Issues items for each case by placing them on a cart, recording the issue and placing the cart in the holding area Augments the preference card by issuing supplies and equipment as requested by the operating room staffItemizes a list of returns from the OR and returns stock and equipment to the proper storage location Checks equipment for cleanliness, functional use; inventories and documents the quantity of each instrument per tray/container Wraps trays and product for sterilization in accordance with current policies and procedures Verifies sterilization procedures on the appropriate form for quality assurance Cleans and reprocesses all equipment and OR instruments upon receipt using cleaning agents and chemicals in accordance with MSDS Returns equipment to decontamination in a safe and sanitary manner Maintains good working knowledge of decontamination equipment and records maintenance Records autoclave load contents and required statistics in a complete and accurate manner Responds to patients, families, visitors and staff in a sensitive, caring mannerEstablishes and maintains open lines of communication with the Registered Nurse Reports any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to the Sr. SPD Technician immediately and notifies other staff Demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquette Follows verbal and written instructions accurately and in a timely manner Other duties as assigned Qualifications: High School Graduate/Equivalent CRCST required 1 year experience preferred What We Offer: Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Retirement Plan Free Parking Tuition Assistance And more Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
