Addison, United States SkyBridge LLC Defunct Full time

SkyBridge has arrived in the USA - and we need you

Are you an Aerospace Airworthiness and Certification Engineer wanting to make the move into eVTOL, on one of the most advanced projects available in the market today?

Then let me introduce you to SkyBridge; haven't heard of us before? Good. We have been operating in secrecy since 2017 in the UK, in this time we have designed, manufactured and tested multiple prototypes, with the aim of finding the perfect eVTOL solution. Due to recent success we have opened an office in Addison, Texas to expand our operations into the United States.

We are currently searching for a Airworthiness and Certification Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the chance to lead our efforts in ensuring the airworthiness of our eVTOL aircraft and navigating the complex certification process with aviation authorities. You will have the chance to solve unprecedented challenges and help give the SkyBridge eVTOL a type certificate whilst ensuring it is the best product on the market.

You will play a pivotal role in analysing and optimising the aircraft architecture across multiple prototype vehicles. You will have the unique opportunity to engage in the full life cycle of design and development of multiple prototypes - from conceptualisation and prototyping through to certification - you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of our aerospace technology. On top of all of this, you will be sat right next door to where your aircraft is being manufactured, assembled and even tested - seeing everything come to life right before you.

Our project is incredibly unique and cutting-edge, and we need the best of the best to make it happen.

If you are motivated by having a tangible and significant impact across multiple technical topics, whilst working with some of the best minds in industry, this may be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development and implementation of airworthiness strategies for eVTOL aircraft in compliance with FAA and other relevant aviation authority standards.
    • Manage the certification process, including preparing necessary documentation, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and ensuring all requirements are met on schedule.
    • Work closely with the engineering team to integrate airworthiness requirements into the design and development process of eVTOL systems and components.
    • Conduct risk assessments, safety analysis, and reliability evaluations to ensure the highest levels of safety and compliance.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between [Your Company Name] and regulatory authorities, professional bodies, and industry groups.
    • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends in eVTOL airworthiness and certification to guide strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airworthiness certification within the aerospace industry, with a strong preference for candidates with eVTOL or related experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, certification processes, and standards applicable to eVTOL or similar aircraft.
    • Proven track record of successfully navigating complex certification processes and achieving airworthiness approvals.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and interface with regulatory authorities.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
What will set you apart:
    • Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together with the ability to assess risk and make design and development decisions without all available data
    • Experience of the whole certification process
    • Working on novel aerospace designs such as eVTOL

At SkyBridge, we want all of our employees to feel comfortable bringing their passion, creativity and individuality to work. We value all cultures, backgrounds and experiences, as we truly believe that diversity drives innovation.
