Job Summary

The Senior Supervisor, Fiber Network Engineering, will lead a team responsible for designing, configuring, and troubleshooting the core network and access network infrastructure that provides services to the fiber optic customer base. Network services include data services (Access, Broadband Network Gateway, Layer 2/Layer 3), voice, systems, and video. In this role, you will supervise Network Team resources, improve processes, interface with Communications Operations, Technical Support, New Products, and Commercial Sales, and coordinate all activities related to Network platform service delivery. This includes overseeing various systems such as video platforms, telephone systems, video acquisition and encoding systems, firewalls, and multiple databases.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Lead the Network Engineering department, ensuring efficient operations and achieving departmental goals.
-Oversee the implementation, installation, configuration, and technical support of network architecture projects.
-Motivate and empower the team to work productively and collaboratively, fostering a positive work environment.
-Mentor and coach employees through regular one-on-one discussions, promoting professional development.
-Provide input to departmental leadership regarding employee performance and emerging issues that may require corrective action.
-Manage daily escalations and assign tasks appropriately, ensuring timely resolution.
-Maintain communications with other departments, divisions, work groups, teams, and outside agencies and coordinate work assigned in the department to support corporate goals.
-Provide training and development of employees in the workgroup.
-Generate routine reports and updates on departmental activities and performance.
-Identify areas of improvement and provide resolutions for these areas.
-Lead and execute special projects or tasks assigned by department leadership.

Education and Experience

-Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or Business Management is preferred or equivalent experience in the telecommunications industry with strong working knowledge of GPON/XGS-PON fiber optic networks (Passive Optical Networks) and equipment that supports triple play services.
-Previous experience in a supervisory role is required.
-Working knowledge of Nokia and Juniper network equipment is preferred.

Certification(s) & Other Requirements

-Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
-Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, accept interruptions, prioritize changes, and meet deadlines.
-Ability to write legibly and speak plainly to effectively communicate qualitatively and quantitatively job-related information to employees and customers.
-Detail-oriented skills used to manage complex systems; excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and time management skills.
