Lawelawe Defense Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to work closely across various lines of business to understand organizational objectives and prioritize requirements.

This position allows for a flexible work arrangement where the employee can work remotely the majority of the time. However, the role requires the employee to be physically present in the office 1 to 2 times per month. These in-office days will be scheduled in advance and are typically for team meetings, project collaboration sessions, or key business activities that necessitate face-to-face interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex databases, including JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Maintain database dictionaries, monitor standards and procedures, and integrate systems through database design.
  • Competently work at the highest level of all phases of database management.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in working with various database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
  • Expertise in designing database schemas, creating entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), and optimizing database structures for performance, scalability, and data integrity
  • Strong SQL skills including writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. .
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting for automating routine tasks, database maintenance, monitoring, and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, or AWS DynamoDB.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Creative problem solving skills with the ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and develop innovative solutions. 
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and reliability in data handling and system performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities with excellent time management skills to help in meeting deadlines and prioritize tasks

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience working in a matrixed, high-functioning environment as a Database Analyst or similar
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field
  • Previous experience working in roles with strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to be physically present in the office 1 to 2 times per month
  • Active secret clearance required
