Master Electronics is growing and so is our Cyber Security team. We are looking to add a Cyber Security Engineer to our team based in Phoenix, AZ.

This position is primarily office-based, with potential for hybrid work.

What you will do?

  • Design and Implement Security Solutions: Develop and deploy security systems and infrastructure, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other cybersecurity measures
  • Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify potential security risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for unusual activity, investigate incidents, and take immediate action to mitigate risks. Implement and manage SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools
  • Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response plans, lead investigations during security breaches, and ensure effective resolution
  • Security Compliance: Ensure that the organization adheres to relevant cybersecurity laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMMC 2.0, NIST, ISO 27001 and SOC 2). Conduct audits and provide compliance reports
  • Collaboration and Training: Work with IT teams to integrate security best practices into all aspects of the organization's technology. Conduct security awareness training for staff to minimize human risk factors
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of all security-related activities, including configurations, processes, and incident
  • Security Policy Development: Develop, update, and enforce the organization's cybersecurity policies and procedures
What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field
  • A master's degree or equivalent work experience is a plus
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security best practices
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, and encryption tools
  • Experience with SIEM tools like Splunk, CrowdStrike or AlienVault
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and OSI model
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating security tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
