Summary
The Full Stack Software Developer will work with Kytopen's Engineering team, supporting the product development and sustaining engineering efforts at Kytopen as a Software team of one. The qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively execute technical development of software systems as required for the development and commercial use of the Flowfect® cell transfection systems. This individual will work in coordination with cross-functional partners and external developers to deliver custom-tailored technology that advances our scientific and commercial goals.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate is a high-energy, confident individual possessing strong communication skills, with a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree and 5-10 years prior experience developing software in the medical device, diagnostic, or life sciences fields.

Responsibilities and Duties (What we need)

  • Support and expand existing codebase of Kytopen's proprietary software
  • Adhere to Kytopen's existing quality and code standards during development
  • Follow the complete product design cycle (Gathering User Needs, Developing Specifications, Performing Verification and Validation) as part of delivering state-of-the-art solutions
  • Implement various GUIs from Human Factors output, demoing and incorporating customer feedback as necessary
  • Advise leadership and contractors on various aspects of software development
  • Generate documentation and product use instructions for deployment to internal and external customers
Requirements (About you)

What:
  • B.S. in engineering, software, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience developing for medical devices, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or life science systems
  • Experience with software verification and validation
  • Self-starter, capable of independent investigation and execution
  • Experience in C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, Front-End development tools
  • Experience in web-based application development
  • Understanding of the QA process
  • Familiarity with version control / branch management processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, root-cause-analysis, and trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Laboratory Automation a plus
