Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Youth Safety & Prevention, the Youth Violence Reduction Supervisor oversees and directs the Youth Violence Prevention Specialist (YP3). This role ensures high-quality service delivery in compliance with regulatory and funding guidelines. The Supervisor provides leadership, planning, training, and support to implement best practices and supervises all aspects of the Youth Violence Reduction initiative.

Essential Functions:

Leadership:
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with state and DHS regulations and clinical standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to Youth Violence Prevention Specialists to enhance skills, judgment, and teamwork.
  • Engage in strategic planning, problem-solving, and facilitating solutions.
Planning and Coordination:
  • Identify staff strengths and assign task; accordingly, assess areas needing development and provide training.
  • Oversee the orientation and training of new staff.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director to plan and implement orientation and graduation ceremonies for each YP3 youth cohort.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and mandatory in-service training.
  • Ensure project goals and milestones are met, adhering to approved standards and benchmarks.
  • Prepare and submit project deliverables and status reports.
  • Plan and coordinate YP3 programs, including scheduling speakers and organizing capacity-building activities.
Monitoring:
  • Ensure record-keeping aligns with regulatory and funding requirements.
  • Monitor program goals, expectations, and benchmarks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Conduct field assessments to evaluate staff performance.
Trauma-Informed Behavior:
  • Commit to maintaining a trauma-informed culture that promotes safety, nonviolence, and resilience.

    • Using person-first, strengths-based language
Communication:
  • Facilitate effective communication among staff.
  • Actively participate in administrative and committee meetings to represent Youth Prevention programs.
  • Oversee coordination of YP3 services with other NCS departments.
  • Keep the Senior Director informed of service needs, implementation issues, and staff concerns.
  • Ensure effective use of information management technology within the program.
Supervision:
  • Provide ongoing support through weekly supervisory sessions and monthly conferences.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with agency and performance improvement standards.
  • Directly supervise YP3 Specialists and manage paperwork, assessments, and surveys.
  • Review reports for accuracy and quality before submission.
  • Screen and assess prospective staff for hiring.
  • Monitor and update the Apricot Database.
Networking:
  • Maintain communication with consumers, referral sources, guest speakers, and capacity-building entities.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Master’s degree preferred. Minimal Master’s degree with at least 3 years of Supervisory/Management experience
  • Experience: Four years’ experience working with children, adolescents and/or families. At least four years supervisory and/or administrative experience.
