Job Summary: The Senior Surgery Nurse at Avera McKennan is responsible for providing nursing care using the nursing process and demonstrating competent and professional behavior in their role as an RN. The position requires a graduate from an accredited nursing program and a current RN license in South Dakota. Varied shifts include occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call involvement.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. Completion of life-saving education specific to the specialty area is encouraged.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required. Certification in a specialty is encouraged, and membership in a professional organization is also encouraged.

Work Schedule: Varied Shifts: occasional weekend, holiday, and on-call involvement; 80 hours every 2 weeks.

Pay: $32.00 - $46.50 per hour, actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
